European cable standards and IEC standards

Britain, Germany, France and other European countries are countries with high industrial development, and their power cable standards are generally higher than IEC standards. However, these standards are now merging with each other to form an absolutely authoritative standard system, namely European standards.

In charge of European cable standards is the European Electrotechnical Association: CENELEC, whose members include national Electrotechnical associations of Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Spain, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

CENELEC members are obliged to implement the CEN / CENELEC international agreement, which stipulates that this European standard shall be implemented in accordance with national standards without any change. Once a European standard is promulgated, all members must publish it according to the level of the national standard within six months after the European standard is promulgated, and implement the European standard according to the national standard within one year after the European standard is promulgated. And the original national standards that conflict with the European standard shall be abolished within the next five years. cable manufacturer

In addition, the European Electrotechnical association has also issued a harmonized document with the same effect as European standards, namely HD document. The HD document also supersedes the national standards of the member states within the period specified above.

In fact, European countries often replace their own corresponding standards with European standards in a very short period of time. For example, the European standard on bunched burning test of cables, namely en50266, was issued in 2001. However, the UK, Germany and other countries have abolished similar national standards bs4066 and DIN vde0472-804 in 2003.

European standards are directly listed in national standards of various countries without change. For example, the national standards of en50306 in Britain, Germany and France are BS en50306, DIN en5050306 and NF en50306 respectively. HD documents are numbered separately.

European standards also integrate some standards in IEC and ISO, such as iec60811. The number of European standards is en 60811, and the number of national standards is BS en60811, NF en 60811, etc.

For European standards converted from IEC standards, the first digit of the standard number shall be "6".

France, Germany and other countries are the most active supporters of European standards. Now some important cable standards of France, Germany and other countries have been incorporated into HD documents. At present, about half of the national standards of France related to cables are European standards.

The most commonly used low voltage power cable standards in France, Germany and other countries, namely the series standards of rubber cable and PVC cable (DIN VDE 0282, NF c32-102 and DIN VDE 0281 or NF c32-201), have been incorporated into hd22 and hd21 respectively.

IEC and ISO standards are the most widely used standards in the world, while European standards are the unified standards used by most developed countries. If our products want to be in line with the world, we must first implement standards. In fact, many countries with underdeveloped industries often adopt the standards of advanced countries such as BS.

European standards are more progressiveness than IEC standards, and more authoritative than the national standards of Britain, Germany, France and other countries. Compared with American standards, European standards are close to Chinese standards
